Charlie Waters is a former professional American football player who played as a defensive back for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. He was born on September 10, 1948 in Miami, Arizona.
Waters played college football at Clemson University before being drafted by the Cowboys in the third round of the 1970 NFL Draft. He played with the Cowboys from 1970 to 1981, and was a key member of the team's famous "Doomsday Defense" alongside players like Randy White and Ed "Too Tall" Jones.
Waters was known for his versatility on the field, playing both safety and cornerback during his career. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and won two Super Bowl championships with the Cowboys in Super Bowl VI and Super Bowl XII.
After retiring from football, Waters went on to work as a coach and commentator, and was inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor. He remains a beloved figure among Cowboys fans and is remembered as one of the great defensive players in the team's history.
